Undercurrent is an evening-length work exploring that which is beyond our control. Water, which expresses its nature in a relentless way, drives the choreography. Like water, the dancers persevere even as they struggle for self-expression. At times, the water transforms into cascading tides. At other times, a single drop.

Undercurrent premiered at the Ailey Citigroup Theater in June 2009. It was presented in four parts: Engulfed, Adrift, Deluge, and Drops and Bubbles.
